Dyslexia assessments

Adult dyslexia services

This service is available for self-referral from individuals and referrals from employers, HR departments, GPs, employee assistance organisations and occupational health services.

Psychmetrix Ltd provides diagnostic and screening assessments for adults who may have a special learning difficulty such as dyslexia. Dyslexia is a recognised disability under the Equality Act 2010, therefore if you suspect that you, your trainee or your employee may be on the dyslexic spectrum it is important to arrange an assessment so that reasonable adjustments can be made. Only chartered psychologists are licensed to use validated cognitive and educational tests to diagnose dyslexia and other neuro-diverse conditions.

Approximately 1 in 10 adults in the general population have a form of dyslexia. Although some adults with dyslexia have difficulties with reading and spelling others may have developed strategies to help them become fluent readers. Dyslexia can manifest itself in many ways such as memory problems, poor organisational skills and slow reading speed, all of which can influence performance at work and during training.
